LOUISIANA
· In Louisiana, the brightness of any motor vehicle shall not exceed 300-candle power. Only law enforcement officers are allowed to use blue colored electric lights. On highways no person can drive his or her vehicle displaying a red or green light visible from in front of the center.
· Front clearance lamps, identification lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors on the front or on the side of thevehicle shall display or reflect an amber light. All lighting devices and reflectors mounted on the rear of any vehicle shall display or reflect a red color, other signal devices may be red, amber or yellow, except that the light illuminating the license plate as well as the light emitted by a backup lamp to be white.

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
A. Every motor vehicle other than a motorcycle or motordriven cycle shall be equipped with at least two headlampswith at least one on each side of the front of the motor vehicle, which headlamps shall comply with the requirements and limitations set forth in this Chapter.
B. Every motorcycle and every motor-driven cycle shall be equipped with at least one and not more than twoheadlamps which shall comply with the requirements and limitations of this Chapter.
C. Every headlamp upon every motor vehicle, including every motorcycle and motordriven cycle, shall be located at a height, measured from the center of the headlamp, of not more than 54 inches nor less than 24 inches to be measured as set forth in R.S. 32:302.
D. (1) Every headlamp described in this Section shall emit a white light only, including light emitted by white high intensity discharge forward lighting.
COLORS RESTRICTIONS
§309. Color of clearance lamps, identification lamps, side marker lamps, backup lamps and reflectors
A. Front clearance lamps, identification lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors on the front or on the side near the front of a vehicle shall display or reflect an amber color.
B. Rear clearance lamps, identification lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the rear or on the sides near the rear of a vehicle shall display or reflect a red color.
C. All lighting devices and reflectors mounted on the rear of any vehicle shall display or reflect a red color, except the stop light, which must be red, or other signal device, which may be red, amber or yellow, and except that the light illuminating the license plate shall be white and the light emitted by a backup lamp shall be white.
EQUIPMENT RESTRICTED
§304. Tail lamps
A. Every motor vehicle, trailer, semi-trailer and pole trailer and any other vehicle which is being drawn at the end of a train of vehicles, shall be equipped with at least one tail lamp mounted on the rear.
A. Every new motor vehicle hereafter sold and operated upon a highway of this state other than a truck tractor shall carry on the rear, either as a part of the tail lamps or separately, two red reflectors, except that every motorcycle and every motor-driven cycle shall carry at least one reflector, meeting the requirements of this section, and except thatvehicles of the type mentioned in R.S. 32:308 shall be equipped with reflectors as required in those Sections applicable thereto.
Two or more lamps, reflective devices, or items of associated equipment may be combined if the requirements of each lamp, reflective device, and item of associated equipment are met, except that no clearance lamp may be combined optically with any tail lamp or identification lamp.
