MISSISSIPPI

·  It is unlawful to use or display blue lights and red lights on a motor vehicle.
·  No flashing lights may be used.
·  Every lighted spot lamp shall be so aimed and used upon approaching another vehicle that no part of the beam will be directed into the eyes of approaching driver.
·  Any motor vehicle may be equipped with one or two auxiliary driving lamps.

 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

(1)    Head lamps on motor vehicles.
Every motor vehicle other than a motorcycle or motor-driven cycle shall be equipped with at least two (2) head lampswith at least one (1) on each side of the front of the motor vehicle, which head lamps shall comply with the requirements and limitations set forth in Section 63-7-31.
(2)    Head lamps on motorcycles.
Every motorcycle shall be equipped with at least one (1) and not more than two (2) head lamps which shall comply with the requirements and limitations set forth in Section 63-7-31.
(3)    Rear lamps.
Every motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, pole trailer and any other vehicle which is being drawn in a train of vehiclesshall be equipped with at least one (1) rear lamp mounted on the rear, which, when lighted, shall emit a red light plainly visible from a distance of five hundred (500) feet to the rear. However, any antique automobile, as defined under Section 27-19-47, and any street rod, as defined under Section 27-19-56.6, may be equipped with one or more rearlamps that have been modified to emit a blue, violet or purple light resembling rear lamps appearing on some American automobiles originally manufactured in the 1940s and 1950s.
(4)    Lights on other vehicles.
All vehicles not required in this chapter to be equipped with special lighted lamps shall carry one or more lightslampsor lanterns displaying a white light, visible under normal atmospheric conditions from a distance of not less than five hundred (500) feet to the front of such vehicle and shall display a reflex reflector or red light visible under like conditions from a distance of not less than three hundred (300) feet to the rear of such vehicle.

 COLORS RESTRICTIONS

((1) It is unlawful for any person, other than a law enforcement officer on duty, to use or display blue lights on a motorvehicle as provided for in Section 63-7-19.
(2) It is unlawful for any person to use or display red lights on a motor vehicle except as provided for in Section 63-7-19. It is not unlawful for the red lights authorized for private or department-owned vehicles used by firemen of volunteer fire departments, as provided in Section 63-7-19, to remain mounted on such vehicles when the lights are not in use.

 EQUIPMENT RESTRICTED

(1) Spot lampsAny motor vehicle or motorcycle may be equipped with not to exceed one (1) spot lamp. Every lighted spot lamp shall be so aimed and used upon approaching another vehicle that no part of the beam will be directed into the eyes of the approaching driver. Spot lamps may not emit other than either a white or amber light.
(2) Auxiliary driving lamps. Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two (2) auxiliary driving lampsmounted on the front at a height not less than twelve (12) nor more than forty-two (42) inches above the level surface of which the vehicle stands. Every such auxiliary driving lamp or lamps shall meet the requirements and limitations set forth in subsection (3) of this section.
(3) Signal lamps. Whenever a motor vehicle is equipped with a signal lamp to comply with the provisions of Section 63-3-709, the signal lamp shall be so constructed and located on the vehicle as to give a signal which shall be plainly visible in normal sunlight from a distance of one hundred (100) feet to the rear of the vehicle but shall not project a glaring or dazzling light.
